Arana Banquets
“And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts,” – Acts 2:46
What are Arana Banquets?
Arana Banquets are opportunities to meet people from church that you may not already know. You share a meal at your host’s home, with the emphasis on fun and fellowship, so you don't have to be a gourmet cook to participate. There will be a dinner option on Saturday 25 May or a lunch option on Sunday 26 May, so hopefully one will work for you.
How will Arana Banquets work?
Simply fill out the registration form. You will then be placed in a “random” group of 8 and assigned a “host home”. If you are registering with a partner, you will be both be assigned the same group. The host will contact their group to arrange the details for their Banquet gathering.
What does a Host do?
They open their home for the gathering and contact the group to organise who will bring what to the Banquet. It’s as easy as that! If you have a desire to host, but don’t have the room, it may be possible for you to host at the church.
Who cooks the Banquet?
Everyone pitches in and brings something to contribute! Your host will communicate with you to assign the main dish, sides, desserts, and drinks.
Potluck dinners are also a good way to simplify meal planning and distribute costs equally among everyone in the group. Consider picking a dinner "theme night" (i.e. Italian night, backyard barbeque, soup night, etc.), and everyone can bring a dish that goes along with that theme.
What about families with children?
You can register for the lunch option if that suits your whole family, although, this option is open to everyone, not just families.
We need hosts, so please tick the hosting box and someone will be in contact with further information.
RSVP CLOSES 12 MAY.
